C3S Data Rescue Sservice Portal

The portal contains general activity information about past, current, planned and possible future data rescue projects. This information adds to the detailed metadata of the registry, which will be uploadable from the portal. The portal will also include the C3S Data Rescue Service developed tools.

The C3S Data Rescue Service Portal is built upon the existing International Data Rescue (I-DARE) Portal. The I-DARE Portal is supervised by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Commission for Climate Expert Team on Data Rescue, under the auspices of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS). The I-DARE Portal provides a single point of entry for information on the status of present and possible future worldwide to be rescued data and data rescue projects, and on best methods and technologies involved in data rescue. The portal aims to stimulate new DARE activities and promote discoverability of, and convergence between, existing DARE activities.

The C3S Data Rescue Service Portal will also provide information on past projects. The information contained by the portal includes, for example, contact information, a link to the project, the country to which the data apply, the type of assistance needed, rescue status, parameters, time periods, and background documents. The information will be presented on an interactive world map.

The C3S Data Rescue Service Portal and the I-DARE Portal will regularly exchange recently added information. The portal, and how to use it, will be presented to potential users in the Capacity Buildity Workshops.
